Riddle O’Day Tips and Hints

by Lure on April 7, 2008

Riddle O'Day The first thing you want to do is find the Leprechaun. The leprechauns wear a green suit and a green hat, and have reddish-orange hair.

Once you find him, he presents you with a riddle. Use the green up and down arrows to flip the clovers to letters that spell the word that is the answer of the riddle. Once you have the right answer, it takes a second or so to light up and show you how many tokens you’ve won from the Chest of Wisdom.

If you feel you need them, we’ve put together a list of the riddles and their answers that we’ve seen so far.

If you need to take a break, don’t hit the Done button.

You only get one riddle per day , but hanging out in the room can pay off, if you have the patience. (Warning: it can become addictive!) All of the mystical creatures appear in random spots at random times:

Will-o’-the-Wisp: 100 tokens (new 4/29)

Riddle O’Day - Fairy
Fairy: 150 tokens 100 tokens (as of 4/29)

Riddle O’Day - Gnome
Gnome: 1,000 tokens

Riddle O’Day - Boggart
Boggart: 5,000 tokens

Riddle O’Day - Titiana the Fairy Queen
Titiania the Fairy Queen: 20,000 tokens and a message in the chat

Riddle O’Day - Unicorn
Unicorn: 100,000 tokens and a message in the chat

Gnomes, boggarts, and unicorns make rustling sounds before they appear. Boggarts tend to hide in the tree roots, branches, and sometimes in the dark leaves on the right of the screen.

We’re pretty sure there is no “red fairy”…yet.

Last, but not least, if you’re in for some serious creature-hunting, don’t forget to bring caffeine, snacks, a porta-potty, and some toothpicks for your eyelids! LOL!

Good luck and enjoy!

Hi there,
I have suggestion. Last nite we had a member in the room that is nearly blind. We all had to talk in caps, and as you all know that’s yelling.
We would like Big Fish to make all chat’s reader friendly. Bigger font for thos that are having a problem seeing. She had her husband do the part under my account but it did not help. SO COULD YOU MAKE THE FONT BIGGER FOR THEM. :-)

That’s an amazing suggestion. I have met a few people with the same problem.

I think CAPS should be allowed in all rooms. Alot of players can play the game but cannot read the tiny chat print but when they try to chat along and use CAPS they get harrassed, called named and insulted. It’s not fair to not let them be treated the same way as other more abled players. Let CAPS be used in all rooms without players being picked on! Thanks for listening :)

Yes that would be great because I can’t see that good myself

jollylolly 06.02.08 at 1:53 pm

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE COMMENTS ABOVE I CANNOT SEE SMALL PRINT AND WHEN I GO INTO ROOMS WHERE MY FRIENDS ARE THEY TALK IN CAPITALS SO I CAN READ THE CHAT BUT I TOO HAVE HAD INSULTS FROM THOSE WHO KNOW NO BETTER I CAN ONLY THANK THE PEOPLE WHO HELP ME OUT SO I TOO CAN ENJOY ION AND ALL THE GAMES AND CHATS THANKYOU ALL MY FRIENDS

I must disagree with All Caps in chat… type in all caps is to distracting. All the text runs together making it hard to follow the chatter, also one can’t participate showing emotions etc, when everything is presented in all caps.

Note: Via the Internet typing in all caps is considered shouting. Here is a link for the basis in net etiquette http://www.davesite.com/webstation/inet101/nets01.shtml

I’m handicapped, so I understand why there is a need for basic handicap features. Maybe Big fish could add a text size to there chat feature, so those that need bigger text can set the browser to larger text.
Thank you for allowing me to express my opinion. TW.

Another suggestion to the all caps situation. Maybe a room can be added to the games for those that need to type in caps, like they have rooms for strong language. That would solve the issue nicely…

you can change the size of the font by going to “my account”under preferences

tendersighs 06.04.08 at 5:13 am

Hi if u look in account details you can change the font size….I have and it helps me see chat better.

GhostsofDeloro 06.20.08 at 10:32 am

Hey, rumour has it that there are now a male AND a female unicorn. Any truth to it? I don’t believe there is, but just checking to see if anyone else has heard or knows for sure.

This caps issue just doesn’t make sense to me. If a person has difficulty reading the chat space writing in CAPS doesn’t make the other chatters writing larger. So in affect, the CAPS person can only read THEIR OWN typing easier and they already know what they typed.

knights_contessa 06.21.08 at 10:59 am

I have no problem with ppl using caps if they have a vision problem. Sometimes my eyes give me trouble & using caps help. I went into my account & changed the settings but sometimes I still need the caps. I thought the site was for all ppl regardless of handicaps. If it helps them to enjoy the game & chat I’ll gladly use caps while they are there. Saying they can’t is like telling them they can’t play at all, & that’s just plain…..NOT right

mswangs 06.21.08 at 11:02 am

Maryarry, That is incorrect. When everyone types in caps the person who needs to read it also see’s it in caps, not just their own. So it is only being courteous to help other see and participate in the chat. They like it when we all do them a favor, and then they come back for more fun because they know who ever is in the room will help them out. A little courtesy won’t kill anyone, and when they leave we just go back to normal font. Why is that so hard to comprehend.

Marty 07.11.08 at 10:19 pm

I would like to ask why the games have slowed down so much. It sure makes the game tiring at some times. There isn”t much fun when you have to wait so long between them TYVM.Marty

There IS a possibility to change the font-size. It’s in the settings in your account-tab.

Where are they? I had a riddle & the answer was not in the August list. It was SILENCE. Others knew the answer but I did not. So what gives? I refreshed my page.

Lure 09.01.08 at 12:16 pm

josey: we haven’t posted the new riddles for September because we’re on a holiday here in the U.S. We’ll be posting the full list tomorrow, but feel free to help contribute here:

September Riddles for Riddle O’Day

djJohnnyD 09.03.08 at 12:54 pm

Is it my imagination, or:

1. Do the riddles for September seem easier than usual?
2. Is anyone else receiving smaller than usual chest rewards?

mtownsis3 09.04.08 at 7:18 pm

I don’t understand why ppl ask for help on a riddle. When I don’t know the answer I just roll the letters around until it comes to me. When ppl ask for help I hit the “hide” button just so I DON’T see the answers… The object is to solve the puzzle.

Deb 09.06.08 at 7:08 pm

IF YOU DON’T LIKE CAPS SHUT OFF CHAT REALLY VERY SIMPLE, AND IF YOU DONT THEN YOUR JUST A VERY NOSEY PERSON. SO STOP WITH THE CRY BABY CRAP AND GROW UP.. SOME OF US CANT SEE WELL AND LIKE TO PLAY GAMES ALSO. IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT YOU HAVE 2 CHOICES LEAVE OR MUTE CHAT HAVE A VERY SIGHTFUL DAY

was wondering is there a way to make the screen shot you play on any bigger ? seems like im missing alot of them while hunting , cuz you only see a tiny bit of an edge and the rest is off screen ,

Lure 11.11.08 at 9:03 am

Kim, you could always adjust your resolution. Your eyes and/or computer may not be able to handle larger resolutions, but you can always try it out. This link has easy directions:
