The famous Riddle O’Day glitch is back today. People are reporting being able to get more than one riddle/chest today by re-entering the room after they’ve already answered their riddle and received their chest. As a result, people are getting a lot more tokens than usual.
Mind you, we’re pretty sure this violates the Terms of Service, so we warn you not to take advantage of this problem. In fact, you may not even want to play Riddle O’Day at all today, because the shared room bonuses are coming quite often with all of those people taking advantage of the glitch and getting numerous chests.
A rumor we just heard: “you know they can see how many times you enter the room. last time this happened they deducted 50,000 tokens from some people’s accounts”. See, this is serious business people!
Update: Charlie (ION_Charlie) wrote in to let me know that taking advantage of the glitch is a clear violation of their terms of service and that the glitch was due to server upgrades (which were meant to fix the problems so they don’t happen again). –Lure

..or maybe Big Fish should put less effort into punishing/banning people for taking advantage of the game’s technical flaws and more effort into fixing the errors so they don’t happen in the first place?

No, I disagree!Cheating is cheating. Crap happens with computers, servers, programs, etc. That never makes it ok for people to cheat or take advantage. That would be the same as saying it is ok to hurt someone and advertise it as long as it is good for me or fun for me. I know my opinion is not the popular one but I agree with darleenh completely and those who are caught should be dealt with. Whether by banning or losing tokens, whatever. As adults we should all know better than this. I know I do.

A violation of the Term of Service Agreement? That is taking it a little far. If they do find us in violation of the agreement, they should think about what repercussions that will have on the Website itself. I think it is their responsibility to make sure errors don’t occur. If players found out they could go into the room more than once and play more than once, that’s not our fault. And how about this Website NOT putting up information to let all of us know that we are able to violate the agreement? I’m sure that more than a few saw the post here and decided to go ahead and play to their hearts content!

I agree with Lure to a point. the glitch should be fixed. Since this is a violation of our terms then they should have something posted on the home page statting not to enter because of the glitch. Why not shut the site down until fixed. I have been in games where they have closed it down in the middle of the day for maintenance.

i think the riddle a day should of been shut down ,while fish fixed the glitch..i was not able to re enter a room and take numerous riddles,i got the one time a day deal,,but i did get a lot of room percentages,so i am guilty of taking the freebies to a degree,this has taught me a lesson,that is when there is a glitch in any fish games its best to not play ,i will accept any punishment fish sees fit to take on my account,, sadeyes_28344

I agree cheaing is cheating. We are all adults and know better or you think most would. Plus we all agreed to TOS when we agreed to join. Myself and my husband played once as always we left as soon as we heard what was happening. I played in Bigfish slots and lightening bingo, so many people were bragging, how they won 1.5 million in tokens and more.
I do not think it is fair to those of us who reported the problem and left the room ASAP. And these dishonest people get to keep all these extra tokens with no punishment.

I wish I had read this yesterday. It’s now in the am on 6.31.08. I was not a aware that I was breaking any laws with bigfish, didn’t even know there was a glitch. I was told in room in chat that sometimes the window is open for more tokens because it was the end of the month, wow do I feel uninformed for the correct reason. For that I apoligize will not take what I hear for granite in future. I to agree that when this happens the game should be shut down, not set people up to break your laws.

I entered rooms several times not in any concerted effort to benefit from a “glitch”, tho I too feel this is taking advantage of a benevolent benefactor irregardless of any TOS. I reenter in hopes of finding the ever elusive unicorn which I have yet to get. Did find “Titch” once but now even that is just a memory,,, I can’t even remember what she looked like. OMG!!!!!….I so agree with most what the heck can you do with useless tokens anyways i never win on the draws tried numerous times and still hopeless so you want my tokens go for it….i really dont care!!!….they are ONLY JUST TOKENS not worth ANYTHING except to watch them grow…in that sense i’d rather watch a plant grow and expect something out of it then to watch useless tokens grow and get nothing!!!!

Sorry in advance for the long post. It’s not just about tokens, but it’s about playing by the rules. This is one of the rules of the game site, and everyone should have to play fair. People already have the tokens and we cant take it back, so whatever no biggie now. BUT it is a rule in the TOS that you can’t take advantage like that.
Think of it this way. In Monopoly, you play with fake money right? Well even though it’s fake money, you dont want anyone to cheat and take more money from the bank than they should right? The rules say you can only collect 200 when you pass Go, even if you didnt know those were the rules when you first started playing. We are supposed to read the rules when we sign up, just like you are supposed to read the rules when you play a board game. I know some people dont agree and thats ok, this is just how I think of it.
I also think Big Fish would have shut down the game if they knew. My friend e-mailed, and the error started early in the morning their time, so they didnt know until later. They said they arent going to punish anyone this time cause they couldnt go in the rooms to warn people. They said they would normally go in and give people a warning first and tell them to stop.

I was not aware that there was a glith until today. I was one of the many people that opened numerous chests. I am suprised to hear so many people complaning how so many people took advantage of the glitch. There is a slim chance that those people who are complaining have never done anything wrong in their lives. What are the players going to do with the tokens? The only thing that they can be used for is bragging rights, oh well. Stuff happens stop your whining.

I have the same comments as the above big fish gamers. However, I would like to say this one thing. Big Fish and Michelle have emailed me and asked for suggestions for the game site. I have emailed Michelle several times and yet have to have a response to my suggestions. I am of the frame of mind that says “There are so many players with comments and suggestions that I will not get a response” and that does not really bother me. I have seen several times even in the middle of the month several players with the ability to gain extra tokies in the same manner when no one else has the ability. Do I think that it is fair for them to have that ability with their computers? No. What do I think should happen to them? Well if they are stupid enough to let everyone know then if big fish doesn’t have a monitor in the room the events should be reported by the people who it happens to if they are honest adults. What do I think Big Fish should do for those of us who are die hards who love to play on big fish? Well, you see its like this. I know that again a lot of us have a very large amount of tokens, but at the same time I have suggested numerous times that with the money that big fish is making and can afford to have drawings on a daily basis for prizes and a lot of people are multiple winners a month and there are those of us who never win anything on big fish that big fish should think about the hardship that those of us who play are in. If the site would monitor the chat they would see that a lot of us are on a fixed income because of age or disability, so, what’s my point? Big Fish could offer free games for the player to cash their tokens in for, or maybe change so many tokens for so much cash. I know I sure could use it for gas to go to my drs. appointments, or even help buy groceries, or pay for very expensive medications. So what about it players do you think that would be something that would hep us out? No, don’t take it the wrong way, I am not complaining, or whining or crying over spilled milk, I just think that big fish should reward the loyal members who are honest and who support the site and even let others know about them and give praise about the site. Again, it has been so long since I have seen the unicorn or the fairy queen, or a boggart that it is ridiculous, also, have made suggestions for big fish to remove the “orgey” of fairies and wisps from my screen, because that is all I ever get. I do believe that they have gone over board with them. That is one reason I don’t play riddle very much anymore, it use to be one of my favs. Well, now that I have that off my chest I will shut up and go play some games.

The tokens are just for bragging rights, which I think is fun. But the replies I am reading really shows what type of world we are living in, I think it is really sad and it is not fair to the other players I was playing late one night on Riddle O Day and I saw a players score going up and up into the thousands. Mine was working normally. I guess it all comes down to integrity if we have it or not.

This website isn’t run by Big Fish, it’s a fan site/blog that isn’t affiliated with the company. The answers to the games that you find on here aren’t posted by Big Fish at all. It even says so in bright red text at the bottom of this page…

the glitch at riddle has gotten way out of hand..one of the mods have evne threathened to ban members and take tokens any from those that took advantage of it…that is nuts..many members pay for a membership there ..for what ?? so we can be told not to play it isn’t our fault that they didn’t fix it for over 12 hours!! so of course people are gonna play it over and over..i did but didn’t get like 20 million token or any thing..so what is the big deal all u can do with the tokens anyway is play more games and enter lotteries that u most likely won’t win anyway so all in all they get those tokens back anyway…i am a paid member and if they ban me i am gonna get my money back one way or another…

there may have been a glitch but it shows that people want to do more than 1 riddle each day - i stopped after a few cause i kept getting the same riddle - the tokens mean nothing to me.
how about adding some new elements to the game - i have never seen the unicorn or fairy queen.

This argument is what’s getting out of hand. If you’re paying for a membership, then you should read the rules. Paying for the membership doesn’t exempt you from the Terms of Service. I admit I didn’t read the TOS, and that is totally my fault. I should read them and obeyed the rules that I agreed to.
The glitch is gone, we’ve been told not to take advantage if it happens in the future, it’s done. Regardless of how you think the mods should handle it, they’re going off of what is in the terms we agree to and are just doing their job. The terms aren’t going to change, so just follow the rules.

No, shes not kidding. We dont own the site, we just play there. You can get a membership to a gym, but that doesnt mean you own the gym and can do whatever you want. There are rules, and if you keep breaking them then there are consequences. I think sometimes we forget that. Just because we are online, and dont have to deal with the mods and other people face to face, we can do whatever we want and dont have to act the same. But we do, and we should.

Sheesh so we took a few extra tokens …If you need them back please take them… although i was going to use them to buy GAS for my car and FOOD for my belly and oh yeah … i might get a new DIAMOND ring with them … I didnt cause the glitch and I did re-enter the room more than once …And no i didnt know its was against the LAW to add a few more tokens to my account that i PAY for .. so arrest me if you must .. im disabled and jail would at least give me FOOD and i would not have to buy GAS for my car .. oh well la de da… Always knew i would be a bad girl someday..just didnt know it would take over 60 years to do it ..HA HA HA

One day last week when the glitch occurred I was not aware I was breaking anything. I also heard it was some kind of bonus addition for the end of the month and didn’t realize it was a ‘no-no’ and only a couple times did my chests contain enough for a share. I simply agree with the other writers here and state…when fish is aware this is happening they need to shut down the site, fix the problem and move on. I mean I am here to play and it is just a game anyway and all we do is keep ‘adding’ to our points and can’t do anything with them anyway! Nothing I did was on purpose and I don’t intentionally go into site with cheating on my mind!

I can’t believe this continues! When did things get so complicated? I remember from old movies that in the old West they used to shoot cheaters and even then I thought that was a bit extreme. But I also remember a time in real life, games were almost synonomous with FUN? Perhaps we should get back to that?

What ever happened to playing the game for the ENJOYMENT ? I understand complaining about a game not working right..but NOT about complaining about others getting more tokens than you are.. Tokens signify only a few things in my old eyes.. 1. you are either old/crippled/and this is mostly your only contact with the outside world., or 2. Bragging rights. as this IS, the only life you have ! In either case, I feel sad for all in either case. As far as violating the Terms of Service.. I guess it boils down to the infamous coffee machine that breaks down at work..get your free cups as you know it wont last..or walk away head held high.. knowing that your not cheating the vending machine company out of YOUR HARD EARNED QUARTERS..
